Knee pain often start with a traumatic event, such as a fall or a stretched like a football injury. Often, over time, the knee joint becomes stiff and can also become swollen. Knee joint instability is one of the most common cause of knee pain.
In several cases, patients knee instability goes undiagnosed which leads them to unnecessary knee surgery.
In cases of instability, weakness or tears of the ligaments and tendon attachments surrounding the knee joint causes debilitating pain. Knee instability can also result in the kneecap tracking abnormally, causing pain and the cartilage under the kneecap to wear down.

How Soft Tissue Injury Leads to Degenerative Arthritis?
Following a trauma, ligaments can become sprained and “loose”. If left untreated, the joint instability can result in destructive joint motion ultimately leading to extensive degenerative changes and osteoarthritis.
Our regenerative treatments can be used for arthritic joints as well, but early interventions can potentially save a lot time and improve quality of life significantly.

FAQs
Muscle imbalances around the knee and thigh, lack of mobility in the hip, impact injuries caused by sports can all cause knee pain. One of the most common causes we see at ProBack Clinics is arthritis, caused by degeneration of the cartilage in the knee. Knee conditions can also be brought on by other problems within your body. For example, an issue in the spine can make joints move incorrectly. This can create more pressure on the knee as it bears the weight of the body.
Depending on where the knee pain is coming from, we usually customise a treatment that would best suit the patient condition. For example, we see very good results with injecting ozone (O3) into the knee joint whenever there is some level of degeneration.
Also, we always examine the ligaments surrounding the knee joint. The reason being that if the patient suffered a previous ligament injury, the knee may have a tendency to be « unstable » and usually, using Prolotherapy will help stabilise the joint and tend to help greatly with the healing process.
To rehabilitate the knee area, we need to find the underlying cause of the problem. To do that, we carry out a thorough examination so we can understand the condition of your body and your individual needs. For some people, going straight into exercising an injured area is a very bad idea – it can cause more harm than good. Instead, we recommend introducing gentle exercises once your condition has improved and exercises are tolerable. For patients whose injuries have been caused by sports or working out at the gym, we advise that they should stop their gym or training programme until their condition is well managed.
