Between the vertebrae of the spine there is delicate disc material, which helps to cushion your spine from the impact of daily activities such as walking, turning, sitting or lifting. Increases in pressure over time from having the wrong posture, or wear and tear from improper biomechanics, can cause the disc material to become damaged or diminish altogether.
At ProBack Clinics, our most effective therapy for disc problems is our spinal decompression therapy.
Spinal decompression therapy can effectively treat a number of disc related conditions, including:
Spinal decompression is one of the most successful non-surgical and non-invasive therapies that can target the disc problem in a safe and effective way.
The spinal decompression therapy table uses a very small amount of your body weight to gently stretch the spine. This might sound daunting but it allows for the reduction of pressure on the spine, letting hydration and vital nutrients back into the disc space, which is crucial to allow healing to take place.
Our spinal decompression therapy tables are highly innovative. Their flexibility in settings mean each individual patient’s needs can be targeted effectively. Spinal disc injuries are notoriously difficult to heal because of the lack of blood supply to the area.
As disc problems are commonly found within the lower back (lumbar) or neck (cervical) regions, our spinal decompression table allows for the machine to be used on either area.
Once you’re comfortably set up on the table, a gentle traction will be applied to the spine, the table will go through a rhythmic cycle to pump fluid and nutrients slowly back into the spinal disc space, helping to begin healing the cellular damage from previous injuries.
The resulting easing of spinal pressure creates the right environment for continued healing, even after the treatment time has ended.

“My Health Is Back”
Proback gave me life, I feel like 20's once again. My health is back. No more pains. I can work without pain. I forgot about my illness which I had in past. Decompression helped me a lot.
Hema Pitchuka (Trustpilot Review)
Spinal decompression applies a comfortable, gentle traction on your spine, which creates a negative pressure. The negative pressure makes a vacuum within the disc space, causing fluid, minerals and nutrients to re-enter the disc space. This creates the ideal healing environment for the discs, which are then able to repair and rehydrate.
A thorough examination well help us to work out if spinal decompression is the most effective therapy for you. X-rays may also be needed to see the state and position of your spine. But If you suffer from conditions such as sciatica or degenerative disc disease, or have a herniated disc – spinal decompression may be the best therapy for you.
Most studies are based on 20 to 24 spinal decompression treatments. But, a typical course of spinal decompression at ProBack involves 12 treatments over around four to six weeks. Pain relief may happen at any stage during that time, with some feeling instant relief after just the first session, while for others it can take around six to feel the benefit. Depending on what we find during the initial examination, spinal decompression may be even more effective when combined with our other therapies. To improve your condition in the long term and begin correcting the spine, we may also recommend our shockwave or laser therapy.
Although in some cases surgery is unavoidable, spinal decompression surgery should be an absolute last resort for back conditions. During your initial examination with us, we’ll be able to go through your condition in detail with you, including the degree to which we think we can correct the problem. At this point, we would also be able to tell you whether our treatments wouldn’t be able to help and if surgery may help.
Each spinal decompression treatment is £120 per session.
