What is Chiropractic?
The term chiropractic is derived from the Latin ‘to do by hand’
Whilst bone setting probably existed in most ancient cultures of the world chiropractic as a profession began in 1895 when its founder Daniel David Palmer adjusted the spine of a deaf janitor and claimed that he restored the hearing.
Modern chiropractors are neuromuscular skeletal specialists trained to assess and mechanical movement pains and dysfunctions. They use adjustments or gentle thrusts to mobilize or manipulate joints in order to regain function.
Chiropractic has evolved now into the third largest health care sector in the world behind medicine and dentistry.
But modern chiropractic continues to grow through its investment in science and research helping us move out of those shadows mainstream clinicians.
